This week I am featuring a wonderful, inspirational woman. Her name is Judy Campau and she grew up in London, Ontario, Canada. She has a beautiful daughter named Madison, and has been married to her sweetheart Scott for a little over 15 years.
She started a business after suffering a personal tragedy called "Write For Her Scarves". These are beautiful scarves with a personal, inspirational message of strength, comfort, and love. When given a Write For Her Scarf you are reminded of how beautiful, strong, and brave you can be. They offer scarves with messages of inspiration and hope. When you can't say it in person, say it with a scarf.
Many people have asked Judy what gave her the inspiration to make these scarves. To start her story we need to go back 20 years. Don't worry this is not going to be a whole life story, just a moment that changed her life.
There is no better way to say this. . . she was raped. She struggled with it, she was hurt and confused.
Judy was encouraged to seek help and was so grateful she did. Her doctor had her write a note to herself on a piece of paper, reminding her of her great worth and that she will get through this. She was instructed to carry that note on her every single day. Every time she put something in her pocket she would touch that note and be reminded of what it said. It was a very powerful tool for her in regaining her self confidence.
In 2011 her mother-in-law was undergoing cancer treatment. The chemo treatments made her very sick and she struggled with staying positive. Judy and her mother-in-law live far apart, so Judy wanted to send her something to give her strength and comfort, like the note gave her, but also feel like she was wrapped in Judy's love.
She sent an inspirational message of love, comfort and support printed on a soft pashmina scarf. She loved it! It made her feel beautiful, strong, and loved during a most difficult time.
Judy's goal and hope is for all who wear them to be inspired and uplifted. She thinks we all deserve to feel that way.
People think these scarves are only for victims, on the contrary they are for survivors, ones who want to succeed. They are for every woman that sometimes just needs a boost.
